Meet Joey...

Made this card for my sons girlfriends mum for her 50th Birthday...she has asked for a budgie and all the kit and kaboodle to go with it for her birthday...strange request but she birdie sat for her sister and decided she wanted one of her own to speak to...the budgie chick is not here yet so she has that to look forward to...her hubby says it will give his ears a rest when it arrives :-/...anyways I'm sure she will enjoy his present much more just now as he took her off on a two week holiday to Tenerife for some much needed sun lucky her...
Anyways enough of my waffling and on to my card....

The cute little bird is Sweet Tweets from Pink Petticoat  and was paper pieced with papers also from Pink Petticoat. They are the Little Polka Dots papers and can be found here.
I love all of the pink petticoat range and is always worth a look, I love the simplicity of Liz's images and what she does with them is amazing...
I cut the bird cage, 50 today and flourishes from my craft robo...the bird cage and swing were freebie cutting files from Birds Cards...a great source of inspiration and freebies, grab a coffee and pop over to have a look though all her fantastic files...

The ribbon was a in a load of candy that I won from the lovely Steph a couple of years ago and think its from American Crafts...I think it matches perfectly...

The cabochon flowers were from ebay and I love them...think they maybe one of my favourite things just now!!

I am entering this card in the following challenges...

Its Been Waaayyyy tooo Long...1st Callenge Card In a Very Long Time

Well its been too long since I took part in any challenges but I could give you all the reasons why but I would have to write a book and no time for that...I just need to get back in the groove so to speak....

Here's a card I whipped up VERY last minute for a friend who had asked for a 50th Birthday card then announced she needed a 40th one too...for the next morning!! Excuse the poor photograph but we have bought a new camera and I just have not mastered the settings on it yet...

My favourite style of card at the minute is the easel card...
The lovely image is from the fabulous Paper Shelter and is called Japanese Cute Doll and you can find her here. I would normally colour the image myself but time just wouldn't allow and how fab is it that you can buy the ready made ones along with the digi stamps at a fantastic price...I just love the images from the Paper Shelter and have been collecting a few as time goes on...All the extras were cut using my craft robo and a few gems added here and there...
Well enough waffling from me I am going to enter my card all be it very last minute in the

Challenge no 68 - Anything goes at the Paper Shelter

Thank you for looking :-)

Missing Her So Much...When a Loved One Passes On...

Well havent I been gone for such a long time...I am writing this as a kind of therapy, this year has really knocked me for six and I am struggling to get to grips with things at the minute...

Where to begin...really lost my mojo when my so called friend that I made the 200 wedding invites unfortuately cancelled her wedding at the last minute and also 'forgot' to pay me for the invites that I had so lovingly made...she has since got married and had the cheek to send us an invite that was sadly printed off the computer...did I go to the wedding....NO I certainly did not.

Next family problem was that my 2nd son Jamie underwent an op to remove a pilondial cyst and after many weeks of recovery we now know that it has not worked and he is being re-refered to the hospital...poor Jamie he feels he went through so much for nothing...

None of these things compare to the last bombshell to hit us...my sister Sandra sadly passed away on the 19th April at the tender age of 51...she has not kept good health for a number of years and sadly lost her battle to keep going and her poor body gave up on her...she was suffering from a relatively rare condition called scleroderma...which we have since found out can be, but rarely genetic...I am myself not keeping great health and have made an appointment to see her doctor later today in the hope that it eases my fears that I dont have this horrible condition too...

I am really struggling to get back to 'normal' and have been keeping strong for all around me that I have not yet grieved for her and am hoping that writing this piece in my blog will go some way to help me begin the process...Im going to try and make some cards this week and see if card making will help...

If you come across this while blog hoping thanks you for taking the time to read it...hope you are all well in blogland wherever you are...

Sleep well sis...missing you...hugs xxxx

Hugs and happy crafting to all
