Truly Scrumptious Challenge...Crafty Catz Challenge...It's Been A Long Time..

Wow where does the time go can believe its been so long since I posted on my little old blog....
its begining to think winter came too soon and hibernation had begun early...
Well what have I been up to???
Where to begin.lol...Went on holiday again to Turkey in October with partner and youngest son...Weather was awful...rained for 10 days out or 14 :-(...I caught the flu...just getting over it now 4 weeks on...and felt totaly misserable and wanted home to my own bed as you do...

The week after we came home went to the craft show at the SECC...stood and spoke to the lovely Lorraine...bought some lush new goodies but have still yet to play with them...need to get my finger out and get going as christmas is fast approaching and I will be leaving it til the last minute as usual...

Boys are all well...still playing football and golf....still creating more washing than I ever expected possible :-(
Have gone and bought myself a new iron so hopefully will take the strain instead of my poor arms...wish it was robotic and went by itself but no such luck.lol...
Work going so so....have got new job within a contact centre and I am missing being out and about in peoples homes trying to help them....but as they say a jobs a job and I shouldnt complain...have got a pay rise and back money to look forward to come the end of the month so thats a boost to the xmas funds :-)

Still come on a have a nosey at everyones blogs even though dont get time to comment as much as I would like but fingers crossed my hours will be back to normal in the near future and no more 8.30pm finishes then I will get more time to do the things I enjoy...

Have made a card for a couple of challenges so here goes...maybe I have lost my touch but only you can tell me that....

Card is for one of my son's friends who is into golf as much as he is...as far as I can remember I have not used this image for him but if I have Im sure he will forgive me...

The image is one of Kenny K's. I downloaded the image a long time ago before his website and challenge blog were up and running but you can buy it from here where there are loads of fab images to choose from all very hip and happening for young and old alike but dont blame me if you start spending.lol...

The background papers are a mix...the black and grey swirl and spot ones are from the Black Market Paper Society -Ebony & Aabaster Collection...I cant remember where I bought them but it was online somewhere...google and Im sure you will find them...I have used them a few times on cards and love the vintage feel they have as you can see work great with a young guys card...

The red stripe paper is from the Forever Friends Christmas 2009 'Gift Wrapped' A4 card pad...I love this pad and used it on many chrimbo cards last year and still have loads left...again Im sure you may find it online somewhere if you google it.

The black pearls, little golf balls and pins are from stash...Ticket Sentiment was a free download but cant remember where from but if any of you do know where its from let me know so that I can give them credit for their work...

I am entering the card into the Truly Scrumptious Challenge where they have a fab sketch and with the option of using petals, pearls and pins...
I have used 2 out of the 3 so thats not bad for a guys card is it????

Also entering the Crafty Catz Challenge where its spots and stripes

Thanks for looking and hope you are all well in blogland wherever you are...

loadsa hugs and happy crafting

Wow Have I been gone that long...lol

I cant believe that its been almost 2 weeks since I have been blogging...Where does the time go and why oh why does it go faster the older you are??

Had couple of busy weeks as usual at work...had to make and emergency dash to the dentist last week to get a wisdom tooth out....ouch bloody ouch is putting it mildly...god thought my brains were falling out of the huge hole that was left behind.lol...

Have been battling with the boys to get on a computer this week but even with 3 in the house I aint had a look in...think Santa gonna have to come along with one...I did ask the tooth fairy but she was having none of it.lol...

Still busy with my friends invites, I thought I would have had them all done by now but the pain I was in last week really couldnt do much apart from growl at the kids and o/h....got no work until Monday so gonna get a good crack at them and hopefully get most done...all have to be done dusted and delivered next weekend at the latest...Have got some yummy goodies for my blog candy which I have decided that I will be putting up for grabs once I get these invitations are done...god forbid if the bride comes along with any more hair brained ideas, think I will brain her...Im sure shes stuck in an 80's time warp...but I can be very persuasive at telling her something looks naff in a dignified way of course.lol...

Have been making a few xmas cards to break monotony of the wedding invites going to have a browse and see if theres any challenges I can enter with them...so may just be back over next couple of days to let you have a look...

dont forget to pop over to the lovely Emma's Blog and get details on how to win £10 worth of shopping candy...

hope you are all well in blogland wherever you are....hugs and happy crafting...

Tiddly Inks Challenge...Number 10 Embelishments

Hope you have all had a fabby weekend...the sun has been shining and I have done all the ironing in the garden...got a fab tan and now thought would pop on to my blog before I head off to bed because before I know it will be Monday morning again...

I had a couple of days off work and really enjoyed chilling in the garden...I have been busy crafting and making cards for challenges but need to buy some batteries for camera before can get pics done...I did manage to get a pic of this little cutie she is from here go and browse the Tiddly Inks shop but dont blame me if you spend some money.lol...

The card I have made for the Tiddly Inks Challenge, even though I have bought a few of their digi images I am ashamed to admit once again that I have not used any of them up til now...They are the most adorable images and all as cute as a button Im sure you will agree...

I made the card for one of the little girls that I visit every week when she and her brothers have contact with mum, the 3 kids are fab and have came on leaps and bounds with the foster carers...unfortunately they wont be returning home and we are in the process of finding a family to place them with permanently...its sad to see a family apart but I have to keep thinking back to how they were living and know that this is best for them...anyways Im waffling as usual...lol...

On to the challenge this week it is 'Embelishments' buttons or lace or both if you want...

I have used the Happy Day Set from Tiddly Inks...Coloured with pro markers...stickled to the max to give a bit of bling...

Background papers...the pink flowery one is from the 'Just Chillin' pad from making memories...it was a bargain from hobbycraft in their sale...the white patterned semi circle is from one of the smirk pads...I have distressed and pricked around the edges of papers and then added stickles...

The buttons were from The Works and I just love them and they are only £1 so what more can we ask for...I had to recolour the pink ones using promarkers as they were a bit too pale...added some spots, the ribbons were cut from the inside of tops...anything for nothing is my motto...

The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards another must have in my stash...a little peel off from stash round the image which was cut with a nestie in my buggy...

The fantastic lace is from a small shop in Aberdeen that sells anything and everything but they always have a fab selection of lace and ribbon all at bargain prices...I love going in to see whats in the basket this week...

Inside the card is all from the same happy days set from Tiddly Inks and coloured with promarkers...the insert is from a cd called celebration from Card Creations plus ...the verse is from Imag-e-nation where you can find a great selection of different verses...

Thanks for looking and hope you are all well in blogland wherever you are...

My Fathers Day Card...

Fathers Day Card...for a few challenges...

Sorry not been around much, been sooo bsy again at work and always shattered at night and in my bed long before the birdies...been busy catching up on housework and trying to be organised for getting the wedding invites made when the last of the card Ive ordered gets delivered...hopefully will be a production line on the go this week...

Anyways took a break last night to chill and made dad's fathers day card...was a bit rushed but got there in the end...my dad is a no fuss and frills kinda guy like most men out there...he has just treated himself to a new wide screen telly and a mini didi ickle one for my mum for the bedroom...think world cup fever has hit the house because went to visit today and he has a wall chart pride of place on the living room wall...going back to his youth me thinks.lol...

On to the card...I made the t.v. out of black shiny holograph card, using the keepsake board Media n Pastimes...had this board for ages and Im ashamed to say its the 1st time Ive used it...
Found the horse racing pic online and resized to fit the board...

The fabby image is Ronnie Relaxing that you can find here through the lovely Emma who is fundraising for a great cause in memory of her dad...if you have not got Ronnie in your digi stamp collection pop over and support her cause...
He's been coloured with Promarkers I'm bit dissappointed didnt use the right settings on printer and its smudged slightly, but with my dads eyesight Im sure he wont notice.lol...

His comfy chair has been paper pieced with papers downloaded from the fantastic Summer Driggs blog...she has the most fantastic freebies and all print beautifully...pop over here and have a look at her blog it is a real inspiration...

Background papers are all from the fathers day set from Summer Driggs, I made the scallop edge with circles cut with an xcut punch...

Sentiment coloured with promarkers was a free download from The Creative Cottage

Im going to enter it into the following challenges and hope Im not too late...but knowing me I most likely am for at least one.lol...

Wedding Invites...

I have been asked by my friend to design and make her wedding invitations....EEEK!!

Here are the 3 different designs I came up with It was quite hard considering the few embelishments she had chosen for them...I would love to hear what everyone thinks of them and will be back later in the week to have a bit of a competition for the ones that she choose and have some candy for the winner...

I am away to supervise a contact between a mum and her toddler at Corntonvale womens prison today at work and oh boy did I say I wanted new challenges but to be honest im pooing myself..
I have left instructions where to find the hoover, brush and dusters and how to work the washing machine just incase.lol...But joking aside Im sure its probably going to be one of the best contacts that I have supervised and I am looking forward to another challenge...

Hope you are all well in blogland wherever you are...

Crafty Catz Challenge...Spots...bit late but hey ho...lol...The YSN Challenge...Going Dotty...

***Edit to Post: The lovely Doreen Pointed me in the direction of Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog their challenge for this 2 weeks is going dotty so I think my grammie and gramps fit the bill there dont you :-)...the YSN blog is lovely and some fab cards and stamps to drool over too...PLUS they have free worldwide postage until the end of May***

Made this Golden wedding Anniversary card for an order...I was entering it into the Crafty Catz Challenge that have the theme spots this week, but I was too late...not like me.lol...Loved making the card though so thats what counts...I ended up being very last minute as Mr Postie brought me Grammie & Gramps from the Greeting Farm through the letterbox this morning...So I change everything I had already prepared...Do you ever do that?? They came via Quixotic Paperie and their service was 2nd to none, prices are really good too so I would highly recommend anyone to order from them.

The other goodies I used for my card were...

8x8 blank cardstock...pack of 3 from every crafts a pound at the craft show at the SECC...love using this size of card and always stock up when I go to the shows.

Background papers and card were also a bargain buy at the SECC craft show I only wish I had bought more than one box, the quality of the card and papers is fantastic...I tried distressing not too sure if it worked or not.lol...edged the paper with mirri board and some antique gold glitter...

The ribbon frame I resized in the computer was a free download from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff at My Grafico..they have a fab selection of downloads and loads of freebies to choose from...I did print it off on acetate but Doh @ me I forgot to reverse before I printed it to lay over the top of my card...so I paper pieced the ribbon instead, edged with some antique gold glitter which looked better in real life than the pic...

The sentiment and verse I made on the computer...The ribbon was in stash think it was from box of chocs a while back...

Grammie & Gramps were a dream to colour using promarkers...I just love gramps' spotty slippers he just looks sooo like my granda did when I was growing up...always wore a shirt and tie and I think I got my love of cardi's from him as he had one in every shade of brown you could get...lol..

Thanks for looking...hope you are all well in blogland wherever you are...off to make more cards while Ive got my mojo...and see what tomorrow brings...hopefully another package from my bestest friend....Mr Postie..

Hugs and happy crafting

Creative Card Crew Challenge...48...Happy Birthday...

Well here I am again rushing at the last minute to get a card entered into a challenge...been trying to get to the computer all day but family life has just taken over...roll on May coz April been one of those months...its my son's 18th Birthday tomorrow but after a head butt at the weekend while playing footie he has been getting emergency dental treatment today so have been playing nurse maid...so the birthday meal has been put on hold until he feels better...my eldest son's g/f has been on holiday in Japan was meant to be home last Friday so he's pinning for her to return but it looks like he's gonna have a few more days to wait in the mean time he is going about like a bear with a sore head.lol...All these drama's as if I dont have enough of my own.lol...anyways onto my card...

The card was for an order, I had to make two for twin girls but will keep the onther one to show another time...I decided to enter it into the Creative Card Crew Challenge

The brief was they had to be the same but different.lol...one with pink and one with green and had to be 'Hello Kitty'...

For this one I used...

Pink papermania background papers and the white, oragne pink and green one was a bargain at a craft show I went to but go no idea of the brand...

'Hello Kitty' was printed from a colouring page I found online...the dress, bow and drink were paperpieced with some gemstones cardstock from docrafts, the dots are peel offs...After cutting it out I ran it through the xyron machine then glittered it to make it mega sparkly...

The sentiment was a free download from the lovely Paula over at Pollycraft Designs I printed it onto the same gemstones card...

The name was printed from the Crafters Companion Kids Collection CD ROM Twin Set some punched out flowers to bring the name to life...

The fab and blingy charm I bought at a stall in town just couldnt resist getting it, I threaded it through some velvet ribbon from stash...

Added some brads from stash and cut the small kitty's from another download from internet...I made the easel card and added a little extra in the back...a couple of bookmarks that I printed off from the internet...

the feedback was great, the customer was really happy and most of all the girls loved their cards...look out for the other one in the near future...

Must go and get Jamie's birthday cards finished...at the last minute as usual.lol

Thank you for looking...
hugs Jackie xx

Phindy's Place Challenge...Love Birds Bookatrix...

Hi, hope you have all enjoyed your weekend...mine has been eventful...but thought would forget all about it and do some crafting whilst I cant sleep...couldnt concentrate on that so blogging it is instead.lol...

Have made a few cards over the last days that thought could enter some of them into challenges...so here goes!!!

My 1st offering is a ruby wedding bookatrix that I made for an order(for a new customer)...I have given it to her and she she loved it...I seem to make quite alot of these and get a bit fed up and run out of ideas what to do but sshhhh dont tell anyone.lol...

Completed bookatrix with stand

On the front pages...a Digi dowload called Love Birds its from Phindy's Place she has a fab collection of stamps so if you dont want to spend dont look.lol...I coloured the birds and flowers with promarkers and finished with a dab of glossy accents here and there...backed the image with a heart made with card from my stash, using the clebrations embossing board from the glitter girls, I ran it through the swiss dots embossing folder for cuttlebug...the red heart is made in the same way and decorated with peel offs...the background card is pretty doodles download from Pink Petticoat...ribbon and gems from stash

The back pages again using the Pink Petticoat download...A duffex die cut decoupage from my local craft shop, the sentiment printed from the computer and cut using oval scallop nesties and run through my cuttlebug again, the gorgeous flowers were from my stash, think I picked them up in The Works and Hobbycraft...I stuck them using silicone glue and OH BOY! did I suffer from a headache so got online the next day and stocked up on the pinflair glue gel...does the same job with NO smell...gems are papermania ones...just another one of those essentials that I cant live without...

The box is made with...Red card from stash, I stamped the lid with Inkadinkado Clear Stamps - Artistic Flourish stunning stamps bought again at a local craft shop, stamped using a versamark ink pad and then heat embossed with clear gloss embossing powder, I used the illusion board from the glitter girls and for once I managed to get the perfect box...unusual for me cause I often have to chop a bit off here and there.lol...the boquet of flowers I bought many moons ago from a seller on ebay...arent they just adorable so realistic with the florists celo wrapped round them...decorated with ribbon from stash...made a border using Martha Stewart Valentine Lace edger punch...stuck the cut out hearts to add some dimension, sentiment is from the duffex die cut set...

hope you like it and thanks for looking...

Moving Along With The Times Challenge

Think I have followed the brief for all the above challenges...

The background papers have been in my stash for what seems like forever and not seen the light of day(sound familiar girls) and is The English Paper Company Garden Collection...

The image is a cutie isnt she...she's is called Audrey and is fromThe Stamping Boutique. I coloured her using promarkers...

The 'goodies' border was a freebie from Phindy's Place over at papercraft planet. I printed it onto some kraft paper that again I found in my stash, once again coloured with promarkers and added some glossy accents to the berries...

I made the flowers using all of the papers with the xcut retro flower punch blinged up with some flowers from papermania and adhesive stones from the pound shop...pearls from stash were also coloured using promarkers...

Daughter sentiment from craftwork cards...

Ticket Birthday sentiment was a free download from the internet many moons ago...

Spring Birthday

Been busy, busy, busy with housework, washing, more washing and tidying up craft stash...OMG looks like I have been doing the spring cleaning isnt it amazing what a bit of sunshine can do...so thought I would take some time out to make a card that I have an order for and enter it into a few challenges...before I get on with a couple more card orders...

Carfty Catz...this week is spring...

Saturday Challenge...the challenge over at The Secret Crafter is also spring...

Passion for promarkers...I have followed their sketch...

The inspiration for my card came from the lovely crocus flowers that are in bloom everywhere just now...isnt it so nice to see some colour on the ground instead of snow...

What did I use?

The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge...anything goes

I used a Digi stamp from Squigglefly called A Snack and A Nap, coloured in with promarkers, the sofa is paper pieced with some papers from the masculine pack from dovecraft...The pearlescent panel in has been through cuttlebug folder and raised on foam pads...I was seeing spots by the end of this one.lol...

All the background papers are from the same pack of masculine papers from Dovecraft designed by Jayne Bentley...I'm sure you will agree a great set for the lads...

Sentiment was made on pc, the 50th Birthday tag was a free download from Birds cards

I think it fits into the challenges and hope you like it...thanks for looking
