MERRY CHRISTMAS...

I'm sat here thinking about all the jobs I still have to do before the man in the red suit arrives...OMG am I in a panic...This working malarky really has taken over my life...so thought I would chill out for a bit and wish you all a very Merry Christmas...I have been off work the last two days because of the snow and all contacts between children and their parents had to be cancelled because of the bad weather. Not a nice decision that had to be made especially at this time of year and I am soooo glad it was not mine to make...So looks likes Santa's Grotto will be staying open longer in my neck of the woods so that we can accomodate the contacts between christmas and new year...enough about work though because I really need to switch off and start chilling...

Going to sisters for xmas lunch because the boys are at their dads this year...So no cooking for me xmas day...

Barry announced that he is traveling down to Manchester on Boxing Day to watch a Stoke City game and then to Birmingham for another match so looks like our christmas dinner is going to end up being a pre Hogmany dinner...oh well at least I wont be fighting for the last brussel sprouts today when I go for the last of my food shopping...speaking of which better shake a leg and get myself organised to get to the shops before they run out.lol...Got most of my presents still to wrap so looks like I maybe having a late night once again...but hey ho things could be alot worse...

Will try and pop by and wish you all a Merry Christmas but if I dont get the chance...have a great time everyone and hope Santa gets you all lots of yummy crafty goodies...

Luv and Hugs...

Truly Scrumptious Challenge Card

Where do I begin...another day off and have been beavering away making xmas cards, ashamed to admit that I had not made any before today :-/...anyways Grant gave out hand made cards for his paper round last year sooooo it just had to be the same again this year didnt it...but we had a problem...he now does 2 rounds one in the morning and one in the afternoon soooo after trying to tell him that cards dont make themselves and that now I'm a working mum I NEED to sleep at some point... A compromise was struck and the peeps that got handmade cards last year got again this year....so 23 cards later, I thought I would enter some of them into challenges...Of course cards all ready to photograph, the weather is rubbish here so the pics started off a bit naff to say the least....THEN... Battery on camera went so I gave up and have only managed to photograph a few but hey ho its more than I had yesterday...lol...So without further ado... and waffling...

Here's my take on the Truly Scrumptious Challenge...I love this sketch and will deffo use it again...simple but effective...a bit like me.lol...

Its Been a Long Time....My little Catch Up....

Well where do I start...its been ages since I managed to get any blogging done or card making for that matter...Work has taken over my life at the minute...I was meant to be working two and half days a week but that just hasnt happened and been working almost full time...Its sad that families end up in the care of social work but at the end of the day its the children that are the most important people to us...I have recently been in the most horrible situation where I had to accompany 3 children to a place of safety, but I went to visit them this week and wow what a transformation these small children have blossomed under the care of the foster carers...I knew at that point that the right decision had been made to remove them from home...anyways I'm getting sidetracked and getting things off my chest...BUT...on to my family and what they have been up to...Barry is still playing footie and working hard he's off on his hols at the end of the month....Jamie's apprenticeship is going well and he starts college for a few weeks at the end of the month, he is learning to drive and is busy looking for a car...he went off on his first holiday 'with the lads' to Portugal and had the time of his life...It feels like Grant has moved into the golf club as he spends most of his days and evenings there.lol...better than out roaming the streets though...its been his 1st season competing and he was 3rd in the clubs open competition and has reduced his handicap from 27 to 15...all gobeldygook to me but some of you may understand.lol...He goes back to school on Tuesday so off out to get the last bits and bobs this weekend...thats a chore and a half because he hates shopping and is sooooo fussy...got to buy him some summer clothes for going on holiday in October and I know now its going to be a couple of double vodkas for me after we have done the rounds of all the shops.lol...Ronnie has finished his course at college and graduates in November...he has passed with flying colours and I am soooo proud of him....awwww...Anyways enough of my waffling...hoping to catch up and get round a few blogs and make some cards tomorrow before I have to go on a team building day on Friday....not my kind of thing but better show willing.lol...Meant to be a BBQ at the beach! It might rain and we have to go to the pub instead.lol...
Hope you are all well and the summer has been bright and sunny wherever you are in blog land...

Hugs

The Karma Award:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind of bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award.

I received The Karma Award from my lovely blogging friend Sue

Now I have to pass it it onto 8 others so here goes:

Started Work, So Have Been a Busy Tired Little Bee....

Not been a very good blogger of late have I.lol...I got the call last Friday to start my new job as a Family Aide worker at the Social Work Department in Aberdeen...Started on Monday, boy was I thrown in at the deep end, its so busy (sadly)and I had to find me feet myself...looked cool calm and collected on the surface but I was like a duck - paddling like mad underneath.lol..Got through it with no hitches thank god,now I'm off until Tuesday, because Monday is a public holiday...did I time that right or what...lol...I only work 2.5 days a week so still leaves me time to craft, because dont think will be much getting done in the evening because Ive been sleeping before 8pm the both nights I worked all day...Aint done 9-5 since before Barry was born 23 years ago, so its a shock to the system I can tell ya...and I aint 23 no more.lol....Its a job I'm going to really enjoy but it has made me realise that I have naff all to moan about even though the boys drive me nuts at times, and I have had a little think about how lucky I am and how precious the people in my life are...think everyone should do that now and then dont you?
Will get some blog hopping done in the next couple of days to catch up on all your lovely creations....hope you are al well in blogland wherever you are....off to make some cards so might get them uploaded later...hugs and happy crafting....
