Happy 60th Birthday Jim...

My beloved other half came home and asked me to make a card for his colleague's 60th birthday...told me the night before it was needing made...just the usual last minute dash...he thinks I can create anything in 5 minutes....I wish my poor brain and body don't work like that any more...

So quick and simple it was...

The Blank card was another buy from the SECC craft show...

The DP are downloads from Pink Petticoat...cut with nesties on grand callibur...

The image was a colouring page found on tinternet and coloured with promarkers...

The sentiment is computer generated and cut into banner...

I'm sure the brads were in the docrafts goodie bag in May but maybe not...

I'm entering this card in the following challenges...

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY BROOKE

I made my 1st stepper card today...with the help of my Hougie Board...The blank card is a scallop 8x8 card that I bought from SECC show...I made the DP panels with my Craft Robo...which made things much easier for me...Im not very good at the cutting and measuring thing...lol...

Sorry for the rubbish quality of the picture as every day here has been dull and rainy...so not much light for getting pics...

The gorgeous Birthday Girl Stamp is from Wee Stamps...isn't she just adorable...She was a freebie on the Copic Marker Europe blog but unfortunately I was too late for the freebie but just had to have her so popped her in my basket from Wee Stamps...Dont you just love a freebie and hate it when your too late...
I coloured her with my copics pens...I don't have many copics but worked with some I had...they were...
E00...E21...E51...Y15...W-1...R20...R32...E04... E35...

The design papers and flowers are all from the Docrafts...12X12 DESIGNSTAX - NEW ARRIVAL...amazing cute papers with glittering on some of them...

I cute the number one, the flowers, the mats and the lettering using my Craft Robo...

The pearls are from Hobbycraft...lots of glamour dust to the lettering, cake and flowers...unfortunately due to the rubbish photo it does not show up very well :-( it looked much better in real life....

I have fallen in love with my robo again after neglecting it for so long...so much so Ive treated myself to the new Silhouette Cameo...from Create and Craft TV...I got 20%  discount on the double discount day...Now I cant wait for it to arrive and take pride of place on the dining room table..."who needs to sit and eat at the the table when you have a knee"...that's my quote of the day...haha..

13th Birthday...Chloe

I was asked to make a card for a girls 13th Birthday...very last minute once again so here's what I came up with...

The beautiful image is Strike a Pose she can be found HERE at Darcy's Diaries...lots of lovely images to be found there many with teenagers in mind which I love...

She has been coloured in with Promarkers...

The circles and swirls and lettering were all cut using my craft robo...all from free downloads found browsing on-line.

The paper flowers were all cut with the x-cut punch and decorated with pearls from my stash...

I wish on hindsight that I had gone round the lettering with faux stitching  but as I was rushed didn't notice until after the card was away that it may have looked better doing that...
oh well...feedback was positive so that's all that matters...

I am entering my card in the following challenges...

Happy Retirement Nan...

My sister asked me to make a special retirement card made for the lovely school nurse she works with...my orders were...(I mean instructions lol)...she's a big Winnie the Pooh fan end of story!!

I didn't want to make anything to childish so I played about with things I cut with my craft robo...but they all got put to one side as I didn't think they fitted in with the idea in my head (not sure what that was really :-/)
I looked on the web at colouring pages and found loads of cute pooh images and it was difficult to choose one but decided on this image because I didn't think he looked more wistful than cutesy...
I think he looks deep in thought and what he is about to get up to...

Just like Nan will on her retirement I hope:-)

On to my card...

A little close up...

As I said the image was found on the web and there are hundreds about that you can resize, print and colour yourself...

I coloured Pooh with Promarkers...

The lovely background cottage is a Topper from the Country Companions Cd rom from Docrafts...
I bought it from Create and Craft TV...
Its the first time I've printed and used anything from this cd (hang my head in shame)...
I just resized the topper and printed it out twice and decoupaged some of it....

love the quality of the resized print, its second to none...

Then added some glamour dust to the flowers to give it some sparkle and I think the effect is what I would call subtle...

The papers are all also printed from the cd...

Sentiment Banner is another download from Birds Cards this time I printed and cut myself to save bringing out my robo...

The butterflies are all from my stash with my sister adding her choice of the yellow and red butterfly when she came to collect card...just so she could say she made some of the card!!
Her comment was "now I know why you make the cards"...
I don't know what she meant but think it was something to do with the rest of the butterflies being softer colours??

Bling is from my stash which I added to the butterflies and along the banner, also did a swirl inside the easel but as I rubbish at taking photos you can only see a tiny part of it...

The sentiment is a download from Rainbow Echo Designs and can be found HERE  at Whimsy Stamps...where there is a plethora of images to choose from...

Used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Punch and added some more bling...

Sister loved the card and I am going to enter it into the following challenges...

Meet Joey...

Made this card for my sons girlfriends mum for her 50th Birthday...she has asked for a budgie and all the kit and kaboodle to go with it for her birthday...strange request but she birdie sat for her sister and decided she wanted one of her own to speak to...the budgie chick is not here yet so she has that to look forward to...her hubby says it will give his ears a rest when it arrives :-/...anyways I'm sure she will enjoy his present much more just now as he took her off on a two week holiday to Tenerife for some much needed sun lucky her...
Anyways enough of my waffling and on to my card....

The cute little bird is Sweet Tweets from Pink Petticoat  and was paper pieced with papers also from Pink Petticoat. They are the Little Polka Dots papers and can be found here.
I love all of the pink petticoat range and is always worth a look, I love the simplicity of Liz's images and what she does with them is amazing...
I cut the bird cage, 50 today and flourishes from my craft robo...the bird cage and swing were freebie cutting files from Birds Cards...a great source of inspiration and freebies, grab a coffee and pop over to have a look though all her fantastic files...

The ribbon was a in a load of candy that I won from the lovely Steph a couple of years ago and think its from American Crafts...I think it matches perfectly...

The cabochon flowers were from ebay and I love them...think they maybe one of my favourite things just now!!

Its Been Waaayyyy tooo Long...1st Callenge Card In a Very Long Time

Well its been too long since I took part in any challenges but I could give you all the reasons why but I would have to write a book and no time for that...I just need to get back in the groove so to speak....

Here's a card I whipped up VERY last minute for a friend who had asked for a 50th Birthday card then announced she needed a 40th one too...for the next morning!! Excuse the poor photograph but we have bought a new camera and I just have not mastered the settings on it yet...

My favourite style of card at the minute is the easel card...
The lovely image is from the fabulous Paper Shelter and is called Japanese Cute Doll and you can find her here. I would normally colour the image myself but time just wouldn't allow and how fab is it that you can buy the ready made ones along with the digi stamps at a fantastic price...I just love the images from the Paper Shelter and have been collecting a few as time goes on...All the extras were cut using my craft robo and a few gems added here and there...
Well enough waffling from me I am going to enter my card all be it very last minute in the

Challenge no 68 - Anything goes at the Paper Shelter

Thank you for looking :-)
